Kano State government has approved the conversion of Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital in Nassarawa local government area of the state to the status of University Teaching Hospital for Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano   The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Mustapha Ahmad Isa disclosed this in Kano on Wednesday while addressing a delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on accreditation visit to the university.   The eight-member team, led by Professor Festus Adio Ogunbona, had commenced inspection of facilities at the university to determine the possibility of running clinical sciences in the institution.   Speaking to the press shortly after the meeting with the accreditation team, the VC said the need for clinical sciences in the institution was necessitated by the management’s desire to augment the manpower challenges in the health sector within the northwest sub-region.
