    The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) has, in line with Act 11 of 2003 section 4,sub-section (e) which states that: “The Council SHALL regulate the production, importation, sales and stocking of diagnostic laboratory reagents, chemicals and equipment (IVDs)”, set up a robust and effective structure to enhance the regulation of the IVD market. Apart from setting up the MLSCN Public Health In-vitro Diagnostic Control Laboratory -an ISO 17025:2017 Accredited Laboratory-the Council also set up the National In-vitro Diagnostics Technical Committee (NITC) to boost the Regulation of IVDs in Nigeria. In light of the foregoing, MLSCN validates all rapid test kits imported into the country and the outcome relayed to the citizens by the Registrar/CEO through the media, the Council’s social media handles, as well as its website. The aim is to provide accurate and reliable laboratory reports to Nigerians. Thus, MLSCN validates the following Laboratory diagnostic kits: Malaria test Kits HIV test Kits Covid-19 test kits Widal test kits Hepatitis B test kits Hepatitis C test kitsConsequently, all importers and dealers of the above-listed laboratory diagnostic kits are hereby advised to submit them to the MLSCN Public Health in-vitro Diagnostics (IVD) Control Laboratory, 8 Harvey Road, Yaba, Lagos, 8 Weeks from this publication.Signed:Management
