Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Request for Accurate Title/Full Name and Acronym of Nursing and Midwifery Educational Institutions in Nigeria

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has observed some discrepancies in the way and manner names/titles of some nursing and midwifery training institutions are written including their acronyms.The Council addresses the institutions with the names/acronyms as appeared on their letters when communicating with or issuing other official documents to the institutions and their graduates. However, the inconsistencies in writing the names/acronyms of the institutions affects Council’s records with resultant misinterpretation by some partners.The Council has found it needful to address this issue in order to ensure consistency and maintenance of the institutions correct names/acronyms in Council’s records and database. Therefore, Heads of Institutions are hereby directed to address their schools with the exact name contained or stated in the Enabling Law that established the school or as amended by the Council.In line with the above, you are kindly requested to submit the correct names and acronyms of your institutions to enable the Council update its database.This information should be forwarded to the Council through these email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected] urgently and latest by 20th December, 2020.Please treat this circular with utmost priority.Thank you for your cooperation in promoting and maintaining excellence in nursing education and practice in Nigeria in line with global best practices.Signed:Faruk Umar Abubakar FWACNSecretary-General/Registrar
