Admission Alert: UMTH Biomedical Engineering School Opens Doors for 2025/2026 — Don’t Miss Your Chance to Join Nigeria’s Elite Tech-Medics
The School of Biomedical Engineering Technology, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the 2025/2026 academic session. Available programmes include:
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- National Diploma (ND)
- One-Year Certification Programme
Admission Requirements
Higher National Diploma (HND)
Applicants must possess:- A National Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- One-year industrial attachment from a well-recognized hospital or health institution.
National Diploma (ND) & Certificate Programme
Applicants must have:- A minimum of five credit-level passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and a pass in English Language at not more than two sittings.
- Credit or ordinary pass in any of the following subjects will be an added advantage: Woodwork, Metalwork, Mechanics, Basic Electronics, Basic Electricity, and Technical Drawing.
- A minimum UTME score of 100 in relevant subject combinations for National Diploma.

- Candidate’s first choice must be the School of Biomedical Engineering Technology, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
- Candidate must ensure that their O’level result is uploaded on JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
Certificate Programme
- Candidates must undergo an aptitude test.
Screening Details
- Screening for National Diploma will commence from 22nd to 30th September 2025.
- A screening fee of N2,000 should be paid into the UMTH REMITA platform under “UMTH SCHOOLS ACCOUNT.”
- Candidates must present both original and photocopy of evidence of payment during screening.
- Candidates should also come with original and photocopy of their JAMB slip and WAEC/NECO results.
